A Snowy Day

The following are all taken by Ruth within the last two weeks.
This Pileated Woodpecker was feeding right along side the street in town.
I took many pictures but this probably the best one.
Our Snowy day happened on February 8.
No we did not see a single snow flake.
On a drive into Winnipeg we found this one Snowy Owl.
He allowed us to take many shots before taking off. I managed to capture the take-off,and was so excited when I saw the pictures. The above scene was what we saw at first.I think he is a beauty. Take time to enjoy God's created world.

  6. Oh my Ruth. These are awesome pictures! I've seen a Pileated woodpecker several times here, but have never been lucky enough to take a picture, and that Snowy Owl is just marvelous. Such a elegant creature! I've never seen one of these either. Thanks for the great pictures.
I have a Canon PowerShot SX100 IS, and use the macro setting. I've had this camera since May of last year, and really like it. My favorite are closeup shots.

  10. Beautiful shots. The snowy owl is gorgeous. I have only ever seen one and it was in captivity. It was injured and unable to be released back into the wild but it was beautiful none the same.

  15. Wow.... what I wouldn't give to see a snowy owl. Beautiful photos that you got! I overheard someone at church last week talk about seeing a snowy owl in our area recently. I'm going to talk to him Sunday and find out where he saw him. Maybe I'll have my chance.
