Longing for Warmer Weather

I probably don't need to comment on any of these photos.
Spring and warm weather is slow in coming,
so here are a few old slide scans to make you feel warm.
Monarch Butterfly I don't have a name for this Dragonfly, but I think he looks good.
Another one that will remain nameless.
Yellow Tiger Swallowtail
And yet another one without a name.

Just a thought:Be as courteous to your family as you are to strangers.
God's laughter is heard in the song of birds and
the whisper of butterfly wings.

  1. Ruth, these are just breathtaking. The butterflies are incredible and so is the dragonfly or whatever he is.

  2. Well Ruth, Warmer weather will get to you---I'm sure. Maybe it won't get to you as soon as it gets to us, but it will get there!!!!! I promise!!!!

Just wait---it WILL happen to you, my friend

  7. I know you are getting anxious and so am I. It is supposed to get up to 81 degrees F here today and I can feel it already. Wow. It should make things jump and look even nicer.

Such wonderful places, so different from where I have lived. The Hamlet of Gordon, Ohio is where I was born and raised and it is how small hamlets used to be and this one still exists.

  9. I think the 3rd one is a Painted Lady, not an American Painted Lady. Look at those circles, the American Painted Lady has 2 large. The Painted Lady has several smaller ones. Think you have a Painted Lady.

Think the last one is a Fritillary, just not sure which one, can't see good enough to tell. They can also be kind of confusing.

Dragonflies.... I have decided to not try to figure them out. I am bad enough about the butterflies and birds.

Love the series, all the photos are great.
