My Garden

Here is a verse I like:
My garden beautifies my yard,
and adds fragrance to the air.
But it is also my cathedral and
my quiet place of prayer.
The following were taken last summer in our garden,
I give them to you to cheer your day.
Today cultivate an appreciation
for the beauty of nature.

  1. Jake & Ruth,

Your garden is absolutely breathtaking. I love the lupines so much and that is one flower that I just can't seem to grow here. Yours are gorgeous. I have been busy in the gardens and doing quick reads of the blogs I follow in google reader and haven't had much time to comment. Don't think I am not visiting - because I love coming and seeing the beauty you show. I love today's quote as well...

  7. Your garden was so gorgeous. I hope it will be just as beautiful this year. Besides the flowers you must have a wealth of insects, butterflies, and your pretty birds. I imagine you're looking forward to it.

  11. Gardens had more than fragrance and color -- I like to think of them adding insects; from Honey Bees and the Flies to the butterflies and a host of birds we would not otherwise have. Without that combination it would be a dull world.

  13. The Lupine are so pretty. I never even knew about Lupine last year when I visited the Lake Junaluska Christian Retreat. They were in full bloom and gorgeous. I bought 3 plants later last year, but only one plant survived. I bought seeds this year in hopes of getting some. Yours are beautiful...I can only hope.

  21. Ruth, thanks for stopping and leaving a comment. For some reason my RSS feeds aren't working so other people aren't getting my current blog posts. Sad thing is that I've tried and I don't know how to fix it.

  22. Hi Ruth, I love all your flowers but the Lupines are my absolute favorite. We're still pretty cold in Michigan and won't be see mass color for a month or so.
