A Few Pictures

Here a a couple of pictures taken  on September 4,2010.
Jake and I were out looking for birds and saw these Asters.
I thought they were pretty, and when I got out of the car,I noticed all the moths/skippers on them.

I have no clue as to their ID,so if anyone knows, please let me know.

In the sky we did see two Turkey Vultures.
They are quite amazing in flight.

Thank-you to all who are praying for Jake and me at this time.
Jake is doing as well as can be expected, but has to have fluid drained from his abdomen every 6-7 days.
We know that it is only the power of God that keeps us in peace at a time like this.
Thanks again,we appreciate each one of you.
I will get back to regular blogging again, some time, but for now,I must tend to other more important things.
Ruth

  1. Bet Jayne can tell you what the skipper is. How beautiful - a cluster of flowers dripping with butterflies. Good to hear from you, Ruth, give Jake our best - we continue to pray for you both (and the rest of your family). Hugs, Diane

  9. Pray for you every morning and sometimes during the day. Where would we be without the Lord eh? Even knowing the Lord and all his love and comfort ... some days are a hard slog!

Today I visited familiar haunts, sat in the sun and absorbed its warmth while Mingus sat on my lap and watched the world go by.

  10. Beautiful photos! When you are dealing with the things you are now, everything else is secondary. Spending all the time you can with Jake and cherishing every moment God allows you is what is most important. You remain in my prayers.

  12. Some of my favourite fall flowers - wild asters. I've never seen skippers on them here, but certainly lots of bumblebees. Hope Jake is comfortable and that you both have peace. May God continue to bless you and keep you ...

  26. Ruth, the turkey vultures swoop so low in our garden that sometimes I think I can touch one. I love to watch them as they catch the current and glide, glide... wonderful to see.

We are thinking of you! and are going nowhere, so take your time and enjoy what is most important... each moment and one another.

  33. Hi Ruth!

Think of you so often and pray for you both when I do.

I found an old copy of the devotional "Streams In The Desert" when I wa at the coast this time. Do you have this book? If you don't I truly think it is worth picking up for such a time as this. My pastor's wife got me the revised version but was very happy to find the original on the 2nd hand department.
