Update On Jake

The LORD gives strength to his people; the LORD blesses his people with peace.
   Psalm 29:11

This past week we have experienced God's strength daily.
On Monday, the 18th,Jake had another 4 liters of fluid removed from his abdomen.
Having this done gives some relief and also increases his appetite.
The procedure went very well, with almost no pain.
We also had a visit from a Palliative care nurse. She offered various suggestions to be more comfortable, but the best
was putting Jake on a low dose of morphine.
This has resulted in him having more restful nights and waking up feeling refreshed.
Throughout the week we have enjoyed visits with many dear friends.
Each one brings a touch of Gods love into our home.
It looks like we will be back at the hospital again on Monday for more fluid removal.
Jake and I again want to say Thank-you for all the prayers on our behalf.
We know that we are being carried by Gods hands
   Jake and Ruth

Thanks to all of you in blogland who are praying and giving encouragement.
The above is the same update sent to friends and family.
  Ruth

  7. It is good news to hear that Jake is home, getting bits of relief and restful sleep. It is good too, that they can relieve the pressure by draining the fluid. Praise God for Doctors nurses and technicians that have the knowledge to ability to make one comfortable.

I know your feelings must be in such a tizzy of up and down, happy and sad - what a sweet man to encourage you to get that iPad. Just another love the two of you share -

I hope you have a bit of fun - figuring out all the ins and outs of using it. Perhaps someday you can post some tutorials, and teach us a thing or two about it.

For now you both continue to be in my prayers.
