Happy New Year

At the end of 2010,I will share a few of my favourite images, taken in the last week or so.
The first image is one of those happy surprises.
I had gone to a friends house and was pleased to see the birds feeding close to the deck.
I had not noticed this picture until I uploaded them to the computer.I would have preferred to have all of the wings on the picture, but I am still pleased with the out come.
Black-capped Chickadee on take-off.

The American Goldfinches have lost their bright colour, but are still quite charming in their muted plumage.

This picture was taken through my dining room window.
The Hairy Woodpecker wanted to get at the suet, but was a little disturbed by my presence.

This is not a particularly beautiful image, but I like the formation of crystals around the heated bird bath.

Finally,I leave you with a bouquet of roses.
These were given to me by a friend and I want to share them with all of you.
Your friendship means a lot to me.

As we enter this New Year here is a thought worth remembering:
When we know that God's hand is in everything,
we can leave everything in God's hand.

Wishing you a New Year filled with blessings and peace.

  4. Dear Ruth, I learned a long time ago to leave everything in God's hand and whatever you cannot do in a day, hand it back to God and He will arrange it.

The Chickadee is a superb catch. I love his little splayed tail.

I wish you a Year of wonders that take your breath away.

  9. Wonderful, wonderful pictures, Ruth!! The crystals are amazing, my favorite picture. They look like feathers from one of the birds. Or from an angel, perhaps you. I am glad to have found you this year and wishing for you peace and joy again in the new year. Your header is absolutely stunning, it almost took my breath away.

  12. God brings us beauty even in frost and ice crystals, doesn't He? The little chickadee is precious. We don't get them in West Texas.

I pray that you have peace, health and comfort in the new year. I'm glad Betsy sent me your way a few months ago.

    Blessings!

Thank you for that verse Ruth, it ministered to me in a special way. May you feel totally comforted and sheltered in His Almighty arms in 2011!

  14. Happy New Year. Love your pictures.I have a variety of birds at my feeders too. I do not have have a goldfinch. We had woodpeckers but they have not come around lately. We had a falcon sitting on the railing awhile ago,so maybe he has something to do with them missing. Continue taking and posting your beautiful pictures. God is seen in the beauty of nature..
