Photo and Praise Time

Here is my photo for today, along with a verse on praise.
This picture was taken at a small lake in southern Manitoba. It was a rainy day,but still there is beauty to be seen.

As I thought on this verse,I wondered who are my enemies.
I don't have any outright enemies,that I know of.
I believe that one enemy that comes to many of us,are the thoughts that run wild in the mind.Satan has a way of working from the inside out to get me defeated. This is a true enemy,so I will call on the Lord and drive that enemy away.
Praise be to my God who will win the victory.

  2. Hi Ruth
So, so true; our enemy is out to discourage and defeat us. But praise be to our God and Father who already defeated Satan on the cross!

What a beautiful peaceful photo! Thank you so much for sharing your gift with us (';')

  7. Very beautiful picture Ruth. Your thoughts are so true. Always lurking there, waiting to chew away at you. The Lord will win and does win but Satan keeps trying. Blessings, Diane

  9. I love how you incorporate scripture with your photos. A nice touch. And the photo is beautiful. Often, the dreary days enhance the beauty of the captured image.

  10. Yes, Satan's the worst enemy. It looks so pretty, I could hardly believe it was a rainy day!! But I do see the raindrops on the water. A lovely sight, the raindrops just add to it!

  14. I was thinking the same thing Ruth - you couldn't have any enemies :) But I certainly understand what you mean about letting your thoughts run wild .... Oh, I have BIG issues with this .... my mind just races sometimes and makes me focus on things that I shouldn't be worrying about.

    An absolutely lovely image!!

  15. Dear Ruth - today that was just what I needed. I am letting my anxious thoughts run wild in my mind - creating all kinds of awful scenarios. I am worrying - even though I keep hearing the verse - "Do not worry about tomorrow" in my head over and over. I won't let Satan have control. God is in control .. and I will trust!

So refreshing to see all that green. We have been very brown the last couple days and this morning have woken to snow and a winter weather advisory!

  19. Ruth a peaceful image to ponder on the scripture today. Sometimes we are our own worst ememy and behind it yes I do see that it can be Satan. A good thought for today.

  20. A beautiful photo, but your words are even better. Satan does indeed attack our minds with trivial worries and thoughts that will cause doubts or depression. Focusing on God's beauty and provision and endless delights is so much better and we are hope filled by our knowledge of his great faithfulness in all things.

  21. Beautiful reflective picture, and so are your own personal reflections, Ruth. Satan does hit us with his flaming arrows, but "Greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world.

  22. You are so right Ruth....We have to pull down those strongholds every single day...
