My Flowers

With the arrival of the Crocuses and Tulips,my gardens have a constantly changing display of color.
Today I share with you a few of my Irises and a Lupin.

Let's begin with an Iris bud.I love all the detail seen here.
This is a promise of more to come.

Here is a different Iris.I wanted to show with detail of the beard.
Again, note all the veins in the petal,or fall,as it is called.

Yet another Iris, different color, but every bit as lovely.
Irises are some of my favourite flowers.I think they have a regal look to them.
OK,I'll have to admit that ,my favourite flower is usually the one I am looking at.I just love flowers, all shapes, all sizes, and all colors.

Seems like I am sharing all the close-ups today.
I could stand and look at these for hours and not get bored.
God has placed so much beauty into these flowers.

I would be amiss,if I didn't show a Lupin.
Lupins were a real favourite of Jake's so this year they have special meaning to me.He tended them carefully and enjoyed each stalk of flowers.

I do have more Lupin pictures, but they will have to wait for another day.

Thought for today:
GOD'S GLORY SHINES THROUGH HIS CREATION.

  2. I cannot wait to see more of your flowers, what a treat! We have lupines around here, but I've only seen the orange ones, which aren't that pretty. I would like to see the other colors like yours. The iris, how gorgeous!! My iris pictures didn't come out so well this year, don't know if it's too late to take them over. The iris looks like it's sticking it's tongue out and taunting us because it is more beautiful! Either that, or I've taken too much pain medication !

  22. Irises do look very regal and elegant. It's amazing how many colors they come in. The dark pink lupine is gorgeous! I've only seen blue and yellow lupines around here. Thanks for sharing the deep pink one! What a precious memory they bring to you.

  23. Your flowers are gorgeous and your photos too. Bearded Iris don't grow here in Interior Alaska, but I really love all the color and variety they have. They were my mother's favorite flower and she had a huge collection of them. Wild Iris does grow well here, and I have blue as well as the rarer white ones, and they are blooming now too.

  25. These are all very beautiful. All of our irises are spent now and gone and the lupines are not among the living. Maybe they succumbed to our strange weather? Your's are beautiful.

I also want to thank you for your kind words. I appreciate them more than you know. Thanks for being one of my prayer warriors. I continue to pray for you during your difficult days that God through His creation and through the encouraging word of others will lighten your load and give you His peace.

  42. Hi Ruth,
Just wanted to thank you for stopping by to give me your condolences. I'm sorry about your loss too. It is 2 weeks today that Ben passed and it is still very raw to me. I think I actually went through some of the grief period earlier since he was in the hospital for almost 4 months. I was numb last week, but now I am feeling like the numbness is going away and the reality that he is never coming back is starting to really hit me. It hurts so much and I miss him terribly.
I too lover photography. I hope you will stop by my Kay's Photoblog and check out my photos. I love to combine my two favorite hobbies...hiking and photography. Please keep in touch.
