My Home

I thought it might be about time that I share my humble home with you.
Here are a few pictures of where I live.

Here is my house, simple and small, but I call it home.
For those of you who recognize cars, yes,I do drive a Chrysler Neon.
The bare strip  you see beside the driveway,is where my neighbour took out a row of Lilacs for me.

Here is my yard,as it looks when I step outside. This is looking east, and if you could see past all the trees, you would see a farmers field back there.

I walked to the back of the yard and looking west, this is my home.
Looking at this picture, just to the right of the house is my newest flower bed.

Here is the new flower bed. This is where we used to have a small garden pond.I felt the need to remove that,as it took a fair bit of work.
I now have the small fountain at the head of this bed and the birds seem to enjoy it as well.

Last but not least,I have to show another Lupin shot.
This was taken after one of our many rains.Notice the raindrops decorating the flowers.

Now if only you could all join me at my house,I would love to put the coffee and tea on and sit down with you for a chat.

Though for today:
A friend knows the song in my heart and sings it to me when my memory fails.

Your home and garden is just so pretty! Still looks like a lot of work though, but worth it. Those Lupines are so lovely!

  8. Thanks you for this lovely tour, Ruth. You have a wonderful large yard and flowers! Everything is so beautiful!! The first thing I thought of was how I would just like to sit there, maybe with a book and a lemonade, have you a bench or chair? But why did you take out the lilacs? They smell so wonderful next to the house! Your house is the style of mine, I only wish me yard was this pretty. I am just loving your gorgeous header and background!!!

  11. As I look at your home and yard, the words that come to me is "Cared for with love." Your new flower bed with the fountain is such a neat idea. I love flowers but when it comes to landscaping, I don't feel creative. I love that blue iris in your header too.

And yes, it would be great to be able to sit and talk for a while. I think you would be a wonderful friend.

  17. I so enjoyed getting to see your home and gardens this way. I believe that the nicest compliment one can receive about their home is that it feels homey or, as Diane put it, "warm and inviting." And those words certainly seem to describe your home. Thanks so much for inviting us in.

  25. What an inviting little home! And what a beautiful lawn & flower garden! If only you were not so far away the wife & I would take you up on your invitation.

Small homes have a lot going for them, lower cost, less heating & cleaning. And the best part is when their paid for the bank isn't going to take them away.

  26. Lucky you to live by a farmer's field. My village is quickly being consumed by development. I'm afraid I live too close to Toronto, which is a little less than an hour to the sough.

Your lupines are lovely. I have a few still blooming but they are going to seed for another year. Love the droplets on yours. I like yours growing along the fence line.

I used to drive a Neon...until a deer hit me. I survived nicely but the car did not.

  28. lupins are beautiful. They grow in our cold mountains. My friend grew them, some one asked her why she was growing wild flowers.

    She replied, I loved them.
