Trying to Cool Off

We have been having very warm days and I don't do well in the heat.
so in an effort to cool off,I am going back to April of this year when the spring melt was underway. Here are a few sights that caught my attention.

No further words are needed, just enjoy natures sculptures of ice.

So,do you feel cooler now? Perhaps a light sweater would be in order.
What impressed me was the detail in these fragile looking pieces of ice.

Thought for today:
We worship a God who is greater than our greatest problem.

  5. Beautiful pictures, but i would have enjoyed them more last week. Our heat wave must have headed towards you...it's cold here! We just got home from Bible Study and were commenting that last week we were all sooooo hot, ths week it was sweaters and sweatshirts! Fall is in the air here!

  6. Very cool pictures - in both sense of the meaning of the word COOL! I thought the first one was still water and not quite ice - so interesting! We're sharing your heat wave and are loving it. Wish I still lived in our condo that had a swimming pool! Stay cool! I don't do well in heat either - or the cold for that matter!

  7. Magical shots Ruth but I would appreciate a little of your heat as our spring is still a three layer, long john affair.
You, like me, seem to take what nature offers when it does so. The unusual presents itself too rarely to be missed.

  8. Much cooler now, thank you! We have gone from 100+ to 70"s and
80's this week here in Kansas. What a nice change!!!! Beautiful photos of the ice crystals. Take care and stay out of the heat. Mickie :)

  18. Such beauty in ice crystals!! Very nice pictures.

You must have had the heat wave we had a few days ago. We are now wearing sweaters and have turned some heat on. What a difference a day can make.

  19. Wow...Ruth. These are fabulous. That last shot with the spiky ice crystals is so interesting. I'm not ready for fall yet, but I do look forward to it getting a little cooler. :)

  21. Lovely captures of the melting ice! I always find the intricate patterns it makes fascinating. Sadly, I don't need your images to cool off. We're just happy that there's not a hard frost in the forecast, although my zucchini plants have succumbed to the cool night temps. We're still having temps during the day in the 60s.

  22. Oh, I don't do well in heat either; and this was a hot summer. We're having a cool spell, with rain, right now; so I really didn't need the icy pictures. But they ARE beautiful.

  30. Ice makes for some very nice shots. However, I hope I never see that here. Rain is what we need.

  32. Yes, I think I'll reach for the sweater (we reached 4C early this morning btw). Beautiful shots, Ruth.

You won't need to wait too much longer for cool weather I think.

  34. Yes Ruth these are amazing! And they add more enchantment for us who do not have snow, no winter, no fall, no spring! We have to go to Snow Parks to feel your seasons and to touch 'artificial' snow, so these photos fill some gaps in the psyche! thanks.

  35. Yes, I do feel cooler, but it is getting a bit like Fall here, and I love it!
