The Reason for the Season

December is the month of Christmas. Everyone seems a little kinder and friendlier.
Today I want to share a few of my decorations with you. I do not decorate in an elaborate way,but I love Christmas and all it stands for.

A few years ago we found these pretty ornaments and knew that we needed them on our tree.

This year my tree is done in blue, white and silver.
A friend of mine did the decorating for me.

I also like these little doves. They add so much to the tree.

Of course every tree needs some plain balls on it.

At one time in my life I enjoyed painting the Christmas Village houses.
I have this set standing under my tree.

You will also see the sparkly snowflakes and a red ornament in my header. The red ornament was a gift from Steve, many years ago.

Thought for today:
Jesus is the reason for the season.

  2. Oh, that little village is so sweet! What a pretty set up. One of our volunteers came to set up the village of ceramic houses in the residents' dining room. It looks pretty at night when all the lights are on! Love your decoration of hubby with your granddaughter smiling on your village!!

  5. I love your pretty header, Ruth! The little village is just the right finishing touch, but I must say my favorite are the beautiful bells! Our tree is in seafoam, white, and silver. So it is almost the color scheme yours is.

  6. I love your decorations and especially the little Christmas village. My Christmas bauble collection has grown too over the years since our house burnt down. My granddaughter brought me a little white bird on her return from New Orleans. There are so many memories wrapped up in all those decorations.

Thank your for your very kind comment on my blog.

  23. Blue, silver, and white--I bet it is stunning. Love all your precious ornaments. I have some ornaments that would come into "major play" in a divorce settlement--I absolutely could never part with them. Have a wonderful weekend, Ruth. I look forward to seeing more of your Christmas decorations. Mickie :)
