A New Friend!

On Monday,May 14,I had the special privilege of meeting a blog friend from out of province. I have a couple of blog friends who live closer to me and do meet them from time to time. I cherish each meeting and each friendship.
On Monday I had the opportunity to meet a new friend,Karin Ristau.
I had no idea what to expect, but knew from other bloggers who had met that it went very well.
Our meeting was no different. It was like we had known each other for a long time.
Conversation flowed freely and two hours passed all too quickly.

As you can see from the background,we met in a mall.It didn't really matter where we met,but I felt that we were kindred spirits.

I do not like having my picture taken, yet wanted to have this one done.
I do hope that we can meet again and also that I will have the joy of meeting more of my blogging friends.

It is amazing what the world of internet can do for us.It brings people together who otherwise would never have met.
Thanks Karin for a wonderful visit. Both my sister, who had come along with me, and I came away from this visit feeling richly blessed to have spent time together with you.

Thought for today:
I do not ask for many friends, but give me Lord,a few,
Whose loyalty and faithfulness are first of all to You.

I know Karin, I have been following her for years!!! What a wonderful surprise! I am jealous, I wish I could meet her, but we live too far away. I am so glad you got these great pictures of the meeting. It is always just so exciting to meet blog friends in person, I have done this a few times and they are always so nice.

I'm not sure I have the courage to meet blog friends in person. I'd be afraid that it might change our blogging relationship if we don't "click" when we meet. I know...that sounds paranoid, doesn't it? I'm glad your meeting with Karin only deepened your friendship.

Wonderful! It is such fun to meet a fellow blogger. The ones that I have met have seemed like we knew each other already....which we do from our blogs :-) I wish I lived close enough to meet you and all my blogging friends. Maybe some day we'll get to travel up your way.

I have not met any of my blogging friends - except for Elaine (Arctic View), as we've been friends for over 20 years...I miss her a lot since we moved back from Alaska.

How neat is that!! I cannot tell you how I yearn to meet people from blogs or facebook... but we all seem to live so far apart... ugh.. but one day, it might change, you never know. but I suppose, in the end, eventually, we will ALL meet.... ((hugs))

A wonderful story, Ruth.

I have personally met many people who as a result of blogging about whitetail deer and PA elk and many have set up a meeting with me in elk country or at Shenandoah National Park to photograph together and discuss wildlife and wildlife photography.

In every case it seems like you already know the person before you actually meet, and they turn out to be exactly what you expected from your online interaction. We are fortunate to live in a time when it is so easy for like minded people to communicate.

What a great experience, Ruth - a meeting of kindred spirits. I agree that the internet is a great tool that has opened vast possibilities. Wonderful quote too.

It is SO fun to meet up with fellow bloggers ... and you do already know so much about them through blogging that they do seem like old friends.

Hello Ruth, I am visiting via Karin's blog. I'm so happy to read about the two of you meeting after forming a friendship through blogging. I realized when looking at your comments just now, that you and I share many of the same blog friends. Very nice to visit your blog this afternoon. Have a blessed Sunday. Mildred

How wonderful for you! Sorry I been so quiet these last couple weeks, I’ve been really ill (now finally diagnosed with Whooping Cough even though I was immunized) and have had another very rough week.

How awesome Ruth to meet another blogger. I have never met any others, and yet so many seem like my long time best friends.

What a blessing for you and Karin to meet, Ruth! There are several bloggers whom I feel as though I know well, yet have never met them in person. My husband and I hope to meet up with blogger Dina of Jerusalem Daily Photo next December when we are on a tour of Israel. I am really looking forward to that.
