I spent some time last week in our local park.
I was looking for new spring birds, but found much more than that.
As I was walking along at the creek edge,I was struck with the beauty of last year's rose hips and this year's new leaves on the sam plant .
The sun was shining on this plant making it light up.
Oh yes,I did find some birds. For today I will just show this one.
This Chipping Sparrow sat among the Caragana leaves looking so shy.
I thought it was really cute the way he posed for me.
Yes,I had the nerve to show a picture of the Dandelions.
They are such a complex and pretty flower.
The early morning light just adds a special beauty to all things.
This Virginia Creeper is on it's way up the tree.
Once again it was the beauty of the new leaves that really caught my attention.
I don't know what kind of tree these were on,but I was impressed with the loveliness of this. The bright green leaves and the touch of red were begging to be photographed.
After spending some time in tune with nature I felt peace and contentment flood my soul.I walked away from here feeling very rich indeed.
Thought for today:
If you want to be rich, count all the things you have that money can't buy.

That is the entire point: to spend some time with nature... Glad you had such a great day, Ruth. I enjoy seeing the new leaves on our trees and shrubs also.
Hugs,
Betsy
When I was younger mom would gather the rosehips and we'd brew tea. Excellent source of Vitamin C. I like the idea of last year's hips and this spring's leaves!! That Chipping Sparrow is a cutie! And we know that God absolutely LOVES dandelions - HE makes so many of them every year!!
Enjoying your gift, the DVD so much! Love those hymns - so beautiful! My son has to bring me back the box for my laptop so I can play it on the computer. It's packed away since our move and we know it's somewhere in the basement, lol! Right now I'm playing it on the TV. Thanks again - it provides a deeply devotional time for me!!
Your post is a breath of fresh air Ruth. Beautiful. Diane
Hi Ruth...my goodness I thought those rose hips where flower at first ..how pretty!!
God's creations.. the richness of the earth!!

Those little chipping sparrows are such a friendly little bird.
The chipping sparrows are always so cute, and I love dandelions, they are the first cheery sign of spring, popping up their yellow heads all over the yard! So pretty after a dreary winter!
Beautiful spring photos and lovely presentation! After a long winter all the new growth really has an impact. Each day when I go outside I find new things, and like you I feel peace and contentment. Dandelions may be a weed, but when you look really close at them they are really beautiful. Now if only they weren't such garden thugs!
Absolutely beautiful photographs, Ruth. That's where I like to go for peace and time with the Lord -- out into nature.
Beautiful touches of Spring! I love the lowly dandelion bloom; it's beautiful too.
Well said; count all the things you have that money can not buy! Then have Ruth photograph them and you have a wonderful combination!
I truly believe that quote you ended your post with. and the sun painted that little bird perfectly. your photos today glow with light and joy and happiness. just looking at them puts joy in my heart.
When one gets down to really look at them, dandelions really are amazing flowers. However, I have been kept busy digging them out of lawn and garden. I like what another commenter said about God liking them so much!!!! Had to smile at that one.
Beautiful images and I love your thought for the day. :)
they are all beautiful. love the color and light in all. the way you put the framing on them is beautiful, too.
Lovely photos. I actually like dandelions and think they look so pretty in a green lawn!
What a beautiful set of images, Ruth. No wonder you were feeling peace and contentment after spending time with such beauty. And then taking some of it home with you. The sparrow photo is especially lovely.
Just a quick note for the ones that have been asking about Abe. Each day he's feeling some better. He isn't bouncing back as quick as he did when they had to make an incision in his abdomen, but he also forgets, he's about 16 years older now. It all makes a big difference as we get older to bounce back from something we had no trouble with 20 years ago.. Hope everyone has a grand week.
Love the photo of the little bird.
Your photo´s are so beautiful Ruth and I love your last saying. So true
Ruth, wonderful shots! I'm with you! I love the new growth of spring! It's a very rainy day here today, but that's okay too! We haven't had a lot of rain this month and everything needs a good drink. I do like a warm spring rain!
Beautiful pictures. I particularly like the Chipping Sparrow. Nature is a great healer and restorer.
Gorgeous photos! You have an eye for it. And I really like your thought for today.
You found the perfect place to walk. Nature really put on a grand show far you.
I see your caraganas are blooming also. Nothing wrong with a dandelion - if they were rare, everyone would be clamoring to have some in the garden (my wife thinks I'm crazy because I think they actually smell nice); great photos - I understand that 'rich' feeling..
The bird is just fantastic and beautiful composed too !
Greetings from Oman!
Was just passing by and had to stop to say that I really enjoyed your blog and loved your captures.Have a great day!

These are Beautiful treasures you captured with your camera Ruth. You truly were surrounded with the Beauty of Spring. I am glad to hear you had such a wonderful time in the park and it shows. :) I especially love the little sparrow photo. Sure looks like he was posing for you and the lighting was perfect.
Love your words of wisdom for the day also. I may not have a lot of money but I am rich in so many ways. :)
those are amazing, really gorgeous!!!
Beautiful images of Spring...Dandelions and all!
WoW...gorgeous light in all of these!!
you always have wonderful thoughts for the day!!
What a wonderful spring walk Ruth. It is all the little things, the budding leaf, the freshness of colour that all add up to show us the beauty that God so amply provides for us.
Thank goodness we can still find spots to commune with nature!
I like the effect around your lovely photos.
Oh, you're getting spring now. I miss it. We're into summer (which is the longest season for us, seeming to last from March to September). It's supposed to be in the 90s today. :( Love you're capture of the chipping sparrow and hope you're having a good week.
Oh that little sparrow is so precious and sweet...You had great captures on this trip and peace as a result...what a combination.....
These are such beautiful photos, Ruth. I really like the bright and fresh colors of the new leaves in the springtime.
I feel richer because I have seen the marvelous pictures you got at the park. They are all true works of art.
Spring is such a wonderful time of new life, a new beginning, and a refreshing of all things old. Beautiful images Ruth!

I like that although you were looking for birds you were open to seeing the beauty of the wildflowers as well!
Nature can definitely bring a "peacefulness" to our spirit. Lovely photography--the backgrounds are so pretty. Mickie :)
