HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY

Happy Mother's Day to all.

In memory of my Mom,I post this picture of her. She was promoted to her Heavenly home on September 19,1982,at the age of 54.I miss her and often feel like I should pick up the phone to call her,as that is something I did daily while she was still with us.
My Mom loved her family and would go to great lengths to please us.
Was she perfect? No,and she would have been the first one to admit that, but she loved the Lord and prayed for us and taught us so much about life and how to live it.

Today I have the privilege of being Mom and Grandma to these two people. Steve and Kai.
Both of them mean the world to me.I am trying to follow in my Mom's footsteps,by praying for them daily and being a mentor as best I know how.
Steve is not only my son,but also my friend and one I count on for support. Kai is the cutest young lady I know of and is the sparkle in my eyes as well as THE BEST helper when it comes to baking.

I LOVE YOU YOU,STEVE AND KAI!

  3. What a beautiful family you have. We have a son and granddaughter as well. And I think Kai and Anne Marie are the same age. We have also both lost our moms, mine more recently. But it is so true that we both go to call her.

  4. It would be rough losing your mother when she was so young. That's what I miss about my mom, too - just picking up the phone and asking her something. Happy Mother's Day, Ruth

  13. You are a fortunate lady, blessed with a great son and granddaughter. Wonderful to read about your mom. Mine died in 1977 at the age of 69. I miss her, too.

  14. Ruth....this was so heartfelt. And I liked the fact that your mom would admit she wasn't perfect...some think so highly of themselves which is all kinds of wrong.

A beautiful lady she was too. I so enjoyed this tribute.

  19. A beautiful post, Ruth!! Happy belated Mother's Day to you. Your son is a handsome fella and your granddaughter so pretty. They look like they know how to have fun.

Since my mom passed, I have taken up her mantle of praying for my family daily, too. Sadly, I did not do it every day before...I thought her prayers were more pleasing to God. Now I have a different mindset, although knowing myself and how imperfect I am, God still hears and knows my heart.

  21. Ruth what a Beautiful tribute to your mom, and I can tell you are very Blessed with your son and granddaughter. That is wonderful.
I call my mom every day and not looking forward to her departure. My mom is 79 and has chronic kidney disease, and goes to dialysis 3 times a week. She is a Christian and would tell you she is ready whenever the Lord takes her home. I pray God will prepare me as much as He can for the day He takes her home.I am very thankful for my mom in so many ways.
We had a wonderful Mothers day with family and I trust you did too.
Take care and thankyou for your visit and kind words.
    Blessings, Dianne:)
