ONE LEAF AT A TIME

I am still working my through some fall pictures before the snows come and I transition to winter.
As I wandered around my yard,I was impressed with the beauty of individual leaves.

A lone Maple leaf highlighted by the sun. This is from a tree in the middle of my yard called a Silver Maple.

A reddish Amur Maple leaf cuddled up with a few other leaves.

This is a large leaf from one of my Hostas. In summer it is a bright green, but has now changed into it's fall color.

You must know by now that I enjoy the three Amur Maple trees I have at the edge of my yard.

One of those trees gives me more yellow than red,but all are beautiful.

Here is a quote you may need to be reminded of:
You are a masterpiece, you are hand picked by God,you are loved, you are a person of extreme value and significance.

  9. WHAT???? You have silver maples? Oh my gosh, I am obsessed with them! I saw my first ones about five or six years ago, and had never known about them. There are not many around. So whenever we head in their direction, I always detour to pass them. I have taken so many pictures, and even videoed their rustling! I did two posts on them, now I may do another. I know I am ranting, but this makes my day!! Oh, maybe show your trees on a future post!

  11. Ruth, Aren't the colours wonderful! We are about three quarters of the way through left dropping, but we've had a few blustery days and there's a wind warming in effect right now, so the leaves won't last much longer. Hope the wind blows them all out of my yard!

  17. Good Morning Ruth, What a great way to start my Friday morning with your beautiful leaf photos. You are doing some great work with your new camera! Of course, as you told me, it's what's behind the camera that counts! :-) Wishing you a great weekend and thank you for your kind comments on my blog. John

  18. I love leaves --especially in Fall. BUT--we are overcome with them all over our yard... We've been working for 2 straight weeks --working our way around the yard, over and over. AND--we still have a couple more weeks to do this since some of the trees are really holding their leaves....

You would have laughed and laughed at me trying to blow leaves yesterday --with the wind whipping all around. I would blow some and they'd come right back and hit me in the face... Obviously, the wind won!!!!!! ha

    Beautiful leaves.
    Hugs,
    Betsy

  20. Your attention to detail and the beauty of every season is a good reminder for me to enjoy the present and not long for the future....in my case, that would be skipping winter! And we should all remember your words of wisdom.

  23. Beautiful, beautiful leaves! I have many of the same kind in my yard. We still have quite a few trees that still have most of their leaves...some still green-ish...the leaves are really hanging on longer this year!
