Making Lemonade?

As most of you know by now,I have not been able to get out much the last two weeks, because of an ankle injury, but that does not mean I couldn't take pictures.
They say that when life gives you lemons, make lemonade, well that is what I have been trying to do.The biggest lemon for me at this time is an injury, but another one is that the windows in my house need replacing. That said, the cold weather has left some amazing designs on my windows and today I want to share a couple with you.

Too much time on my hands has 'forced' me to play with these images.I sent them through my Photoshop program and added some decorative edges.
Here is another view of the ice flowers I see daily. These pictures have all been taken with the iPhone,by the way.
Some of you,no doubt, have seen this one when I posted it to Facebook.Early winter mornings are so beautiful. I love the warm light on the snow covered lawn.
Sitting at my breakfast table the other day and I noticed the Goldfinches were also having breakfast. The morning sunlight was so pretty on them. Try to look past the frost and ,just maybe some dirt on the window.

Here is one last picture to enjoy. The photo was taken last summer on my yard, but I added a creative element to it,by  using an App on the phone. The App is called LiPix,for anyone who cares to check it out on the App store.

Trying to find words to describe nature's beauty is like trying to measure the moon with a yardstick.

  3. How is your foot coming? You let nothing stop you, and I love these pictures!! The ice flowers are just amazing!! Maybe you should NOT get new windows...just a thought! The sun rays through the pines and on the snow are wonderful, I am so glad you notice each and every one of God's wonders.

  4. Well, Ruth you certainly are being creative while you are unable to get about! You might as well, right?!! These are all very
lovely photos. It kind of makes me wish I needed my windows replaced since I never get those lovely frosty designs on mine!

  5. Hi There my Friend, It's great to keep on 'making lemonade' --when you have time on your hands and cannot do what you really want to do... I am proud of you for 'playing' and enjoying yourself. When I was in the deepest parts of my knee pain---I couldn't even blog at all. I did some Facebook ---but had to make myself do that. I truly think that the powerful pain meds caused me to have some depression (which I had never had before)... This reminds me to write that blog about my situation sometime...

Love your photos --all of them. BUT--the sun on the snow is definitely my favorite (but you could have guessed that). Glad you are enjoying your apps....

We are a little nervous here today ---worrying about another upcoming ICE STORM here.. I hope and pray that it won't bring more damage to our area. Prayers please.

    Hugs,
    Betsy ---who misses you!!!

  11. HI Ruth, Just think how much you're learning about your phone camera and the apps to edit. (Though I hope you won't be kept captive inside much longer.) The frozen window abstracts are wonderful. Your sunrise landscape is worth getting up for!

  13. I do hope your ankle is healing......I know that for a busy lady like you, that sitting around has been difficult. I'm sure you had rather be out taking pictures... It's nice to see the ice in all of it's beauty, on the windows. so very pretty and I really like the frames. If I lived close by, I'd fix us some good hot tea and some scones....

  18. Hi Ruth, I just sit here smiling after looking at this post. How do you do it? You are so creative. Those first two photos should go in the dictionary by "turning lemons into lemonade". Just perfect! The beautiful sunrise pic, and then that last one ... what a neat result from the app. Thanks, as always! John
