Natural Nature from 2015

As the title of this post says, these pictures were taken last year,in April and early May.

On a walk through our small park in Morden,I was surprised to see turtles in the creek.I had never seen turtles here before, but they sure were there now.The added reflections made for a great photo opportunity.

On a different day and a different place I saw this. This was at Ft.Whyte Nature Centre close to Winnipeg.I'm thinking this gal or guy needed a manicure.

Right on my own yard I was able to capture this culprit.I think the red squirrel is kinda cute, but I really don't want them at my bird feeders. It is an ongoing battle, which at times I think I will never win.

About two miles west of Morden is a Bison farm.Last year I happened to be there when the babies were still quite young

These  two pictures were taken in May of 2015,so I need to remind myself to go back there around that time this year.

Closing Thought:
All things bright and beautiful,
All creatures great and small,
All things wise and wonderful:
The Lord God made them all.

  2. I very much enjoyed your nature photos from last year, and I look forward to the pictures you will get this year. It sounds as if your red squirrels can be as big a challenge as the brown squirrels we have down here.

  4. Oh My Heart... The baby Bisons are adorable!!!!!! And your turtle picture made the think of my visits to my brother in his assisted living place in FL before he died. He always wanted us to push him in his wheelchair to see the turtles.... He loved watching them all lined up sunning themselves on a log.....

    Hugs,
    Betsy

  10. What a fitting verse to close this lovely series of critters with! I remember, like Margaret, singing this in school!

  11. Awesome photo of the turtles - mum & 2 babies? I'm not sure of the life cycle of turtles. Do they stay with their parents? Great photo, whatever the case!!

  12. I'm laughing at myself because, until I read your comment about the first picture, I didn't realize that was a reflection. I thought those turtles were hanging onto the underside of the log. I must be tired. Great shots, all of them.

  14. Nice to see new spring life. We have a very persistent red squirrel that has visited our deck for the last two winters and has been in an ongoing battle with Marty over the bird feeders. Since we didn't have redpolls visiting this year I didn't put out any sunflower chips, so he's seemed content to eat the sunflower seeds the chickadees have knocked onto the deck. He did spend one day enjoying the seeds from the inside of the squirrel-proof feeder--guess it was made with the larger gray squirrel in mind. Sydney has been cheering for the squirrel, so we've been having fun finding squirrel related presents for Grandpa. If you can't beat them celebrate them!

  18. Yes He did! And so perfect! I found a squirrel guard at Home Depot that worked for me, years ago. It did keep the squirrels away.
