Late Winter Sunsets and More

Welcome to April. I wonder what this month will bring us.I am hoping for warm spring weather, but I am also mindful that I live in Manitoba, so April could bring either snow, maybe even a storm, or it could bring warm rains to wash away the dirt of winter.
Whatever may come, I will do my best to find beauty this month.
Today, I'm sharing some pictures taken a few weeks ago.Yes, we still have snow, although a lot less than these pictures show.

I came upon a Bald Eagle and it actually allowed me to get a few shots before it was out of range.
This may not be the perfect shot, but I kind of  like the power of the wings .

This is perhaps a better shot. I do love this picture. It was a foggy day and that is what you see in the background.

I have been trying all kinds of pictures with my new camera the Panasonic FZ2500. All pictures in this post were taken with it.I am very pleased with the results.

This is not one of the prettiest sunsets, but it was not too bad either.

As the sun sets in the western sky it causes the snow to glisten. Each sunset is different but each one has at least some beauty about it.

Closing Thought:
A kind word takes just a second to say, but can last a lifetime.

  5. Love the pictures --and that last quote... Awesome...

I still have not seen an Eagle in 'real' life (other than ones that are caged, etc.).... Their wings are unbelievable. Great shots of him, Ruth.

Love all of the pictures, but the 3rd from the bottom is fantastic.

    Hugs,
    Betsy

  6. Ruth, beautiful images! The Eagle shots are great! I was looking at your new camera! Very nice! I had checked that one out recently. Was thinking of sizing down a bit, but I think I stick with what I have, while it's all working well!

  9. I must add an unkind word can last a lifetime, I had two aunts that with their words caused me pain that still extends to this day. because of that I do kind words for others. the sunset is beautiful, I love the golden glow of the light and the trees against it. the power of the wings is obvious in the first and the landing is magnificent.

  13. You and your new camera are producing some fine results. My favorite here is the 4th one. The pastel colors in the sunset, combined with the glistening snow, made a gorgeous shot. I do love the eagle, too, of course. I looked up some information on your new camera, and the reviews seem to be good. That's always encouraging. Hope you have many happy photo shoots together. :)

  16. Your new camera takes exquisite photos, Ruth. I loved seeing the sunsets and the eagle shots are really good. I know how hard it is to capture a bird in flight! The closing thought is a good one too, and I hope my words are always kind.

  18. Hi Ruth, Wow, where to start? Your April header is excellent with the pretty flowers, an encouraging Psalm, and the pink shading perfect for Spring. The shots of the Bald Eagle are wonderful. Great job of capturing the power of those wings! Another wow … I see that you got the new Panasonic FZ2500. After you told us in an earlier post that you were checking it out I was wondering if you would end up buying one. Congrats on that! The results are excellent! I especially like the third photo with the sun setting, the scenic view, and the Canadian flag! You said, “Each sunset is different but each one has at least some beauty about it.” So true! Lastly, I just wanted to say a special word of thanks for the comment you left on my April 2nd post on John’s Island. That made my day! Thank you Ruth! Wishing you a fine weekend ahead!
