Peace in the Storm

My life has been turned upside down and shaken,BUT,
I know that God is still in control.
He who has created the beautiful flowers knows what I can handle.

As Jake and I travel this uncharted path before us I will trust my Father to lead the way.

I want to thank each one of you who have prayed and are praying for us.
Tears are many but we feel a deep underlying peace.
There are so many things to talk about and so much to to do.

A verse I lean on is found in Philippians 4:13,
I can do everything through him who gives me strength.

praying and thinking of you. I memorized this scripture and it helpes me when in dire times as you are.
Fear Not, for I am with you, be dismayed, for I am your God, I will comfort you and strengthen you and I will lift you up by my righteous right hand. isaiah 41:10

Have taken you both to the Father in prayer. God will take care of you! May you feel His arms surround you both even as family and friends are there for you. Hugs!!!!!!! Such beautiful peaceful photos! And if He cares for all of the flowers and butterflies, will He not so much more care for you!

You said it best, Ruth, with the Lord's help and with many prayers you will take it step by step. I pray for you during the day whenever you cross my mind, which is whenever I see a bird or flower or the beauties of God. My husband prays also. Hugs, Diane

Ruth dear, you have the only sensible attitude to take in a case like this. We only see a tiny shred of the whole picture and God has the whole well in hand.
You are right, we are ever only given as much as we can cope with and at least you have been given some precious time. Do not take a doctor's prognosis as gospel truth, after all humans are fallible and th e time granted you both could be much longer. Just trust in the goodness of the Lord

With prayers for you both . . . Arija

I am so uplifted to see the beautiful pictures you have posted in this really hard time for you. You clearly have your eyes on the Father, and nothing else. Ruth, you are a true inspiration to so many, you really know that God is our strong fortress!! You and Jake continue to be in my prayers daily, and I also put him on our church prayer line.

Oh, Ruth, I can't even imagine the pain and sorrow you and Jake are going through. But you are right; God will carry you through. "... on wings like eagles." (Is 40:31) He is there with you all the way. I continue to lift you and Jake up in prayer, for peace and strength.

We see evidence of God's care and provision in nature, and his mercies are new every morning. You feel his peace at this difficult time because he is holding you both in the palm of his hand. So glad you were able to share this beautiful post.

When I read about the news you received of Jake's health, a song came to mind that I've always found very comforting:

O God, our help in ages past,
our hope for years to come;
be thou our guide while life shall last,
and our eternal home.

Thank God for your strong faith - He will see you through this and some day we'll all be united with Him.

I have been away from blogging lately, and was ever so sad to read about Jake. Sometimes we feel the hand of God most in times of trial and I can tell you are leaning hard on that hand..knowing he is always there to comfort and sustain. I will add both of you to my prayer list and continue to pray for strength and blessings.

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Amen.
