God Keeps His Promises

God's promises are ever true.
I need to remember this daily.
Today,as I was reading another blog,I wept with her and also for myself. It is not easy to keep on moving forward, when all that the heart wants to do is give up.
Tonight I was reminded of the words found in Jeremiah 29:11
11'For I know the plans that I have for you,' declares the LORD, 'plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope.
God does have good plans for me
I do also want to stay true to the title of this blog. After all it is a Photo Blog,so therefore I need to keep on posting pictures.
On Saturday some friends of mine picked me up and we went out in search of pictures.
Here are just a few of the many pictures I took.
This is just beside the road and the snow has drifted over the edge.

Here are my friends, busy getting more photos.
This picture was taken, just facing in the opposite direction from the first.

A close-up of the over hanging snow.

I noticed this design in the snow, not too far from my feet.
The wind created such unique patterns with the snow.

A little further down the road we found this abandoned farm.
The other side of the barn roof was in much worse shape.

I have told several people that God has angels everywhere, and most of them are in blue jeans.
I believe that the friends who took me out on Saturday were two of God's angels.
I needed this outing more than I can tell.
The fresh air cleansed the mind and doing what I enjoy,in the company of good friends was a refreshing break.
Having said that I would have loved to have Jake there, but that is not an option.

Thought for today:
God always gives enough strength for the next step.

Jer 29:11 is a promise I hold onto too Ruth. Sometimes I so want to "go home" too and can't understand why I've been left to forge on. But forge we must and for some good purpose.

There is something about getting outside in nature that is healing ... I'm glad you got out. Taking pictures and being creative also is good for the soul! I'm glad they cajoled you out into the cold on this outing. Mingus gets me out regularly ... though with him in hand it is sometimes hard to take pictures!

So glad that you are clinging to God's promises and that the Lord is sending angels in blue jeans! Your grief is raw and this valley of sorrow is deep. Our loving Father will lead you through it in your time and His time. You are in our thoughts and prayers!

I'm so glad you have such nice friends/angels to help pick you up when you really need it. You truly needed time outside in the beauty of God's world. And beautiful it is....it looks like meringue or whipped cream. Bless you Ruth. Take care of yourself.

I'm glad you were able to accompany two of God's angels and get these beautiful pictures. I like your picture of the old barn.
Please always remember that you are not alone, and that people you may never meet care for you and pray for you.

These are wonderful pictures, and I am so glad you got out in the snow with friends. You do have a wonderful photo blog, but you can make it anything you want. That is the fun of blogging. God's ways are mysterious, aren't they? But if we understood it all, then we wouldn't need him. I wish I could be taking you out and we could go places together. But I can offer my prayers, admiration, and friendship, though long distance.

Such beautiful images - so glad your angels were there for you. Jer 29:11 is my LIFE verse Ruth - just love it. Thinking of you and praying for you - wish we could go out and take pictures together!

It is in these simple little joys that life's greatest pleasures can be found. I thank God every day that I can see the beauty of this world.
I find the best medicine for everything is walking and as you know, mine is always done in the company of my camera.

Do go into the habit of going for a walk every day to see the changes around you. It has a wonderful effect on both mind and body.

You will never stop missing Jake but you too need to move on with your life as he has. He is doing what he needs to do where he is and you need to do the same here. Perhaps helping out in a soup kitchen or other work with the less fortunate.

Hugs and Blessings . . . Arija

It certainly looks like the Manitoba winters I remember!

Beautiful photos of the snow, Ruth! The overhang of snow is lovely, just like a blanket thrown down. Here we don't get much wind in the winter, so we don't usually see snow drifting like that. The barn photo is outstanding!

God bless your angels in blue jeans for taking you on a photo shoot. Somehow I think Jake was there.

Ruth you are a blessing to so many. Your ability with the camera to share the beauty of God's world in the simplest of things - is truly a gift - You have an eye for things - that help us to see - what perhaps we can't see (because of the differences in where we live) or didn't notice - because we were too busy to take the time -

I can't count the number of times your photos have inspired me.

Sometimes we touch lives - in ways we will never know - I know you have touched mine - and I thank God for you!

Putting one foot in front of the other... I suppose that is what it is all about when we are trying to find a new normal. Love the barn in the snow Ruth. Just beautiful and peaceful. Love to you today.

Hi Ruth -

I was in prayer for you and others this morning and our Lord led me to your blog. It is delightful to know that you were picked up by friends and had an enjoyable day with them.

You are so right, GOD does keep His promises.

The snow shots are GOD'S statements...

Thank you for sharing your words and photos.

Suggestion: You mentioned that this is a photo blog...

Why don't you create a separate tab for some of your musings, and thoughts? On one of my photo blogs I added tabs that have written pieces. That blog is called www.photosplendorplus.blogspot.com.

You can simply change the name of your blog to something like "Ruth's Photo Blog and Musings" (seek the Lord - perhaps He desires that you change the name...) or you may, at some point, create a separate blog...

I hope this helps, Ruth.

Remember that you are much loved.

Ruth - it's great to see that you went out to make some beautiful photos. Yes, Jake wasn't with you physically but his spirit was there and he rejoiced that you found pleasure in doing this. God bless those wonderful angel friends for taking you out !

And you captured the beauty of the creation with your photography. Thank you for blessing us with it.

I'm glad you went out too, the photos are beautiful, just praying for peace and guidance for you. I've been living with, "all things work together for good..." this year and some days are sure a lot harder than others but friends really help.

I am glad you have friends around like these people. I agree that getting outdoors in God's creation is calming and helps us grasp some of the "bigger picture" of his plan and purpose for our lives.

Ruth, I'm so thankful that you have some blue jean clad angels around you! I know how sad you must be and how hard it must be to hold on at times. God will lead you through this. He always does. We love you and send hugs and prayers your way. Your photos are gorgeous! That overhang is amazing! What a lot of snow and so clean and white.

As much as I've already had enough snow, your pictures are just beautiful!
I am sure Jake was with you all the way, and certainly would be so proud of your pictures.
Take care Ruth.

Wow. That barn roof is worse than I thought. A heavy snow load might do it in.
