Since I got my iPhone,I have taken a lot more pictures with my phone than ever before. The quality of the pictures is much better.
I still prefer to use a regular camera, but since it is not always at my side and my phone is,it makes a decent substitute,at least for some subjects.
THis first picture was taken one morning at breakfast, with a friend.
We were sitting on the deck of of our local golf club, enjoying the conversation and breakfast. It was a hot muggy morning and this is what my water with lemon looked like, after only a minute or two outside.
At home, this butterfly sat long enough for me to get close and get one picture.
Coming home from my sister-in-laws's place the other day,I captured this image.
The building in the centre of the picture is prison. This is a well known place in Canada, and houses some of the hardest criminals around.
I feel kind of uneasy each time I drive by it.
On a brighter note. This Hollyhock was one of the brightest I had this year.
Of course they are all done blooming now,but I did enjoy this cheery color.
Another bright flower,the Day Lily.
This was a new one for me this year and I sure enjoyed the blooms.
I am saddened to see that most of my flowers are done for this year, but such is life.
Seasons come and go and we must adapt to the changes.
Thought for today:
Life is an echo, what you send comes back.
what a beautiful, vibrant butterfly!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos! Love that Butterfly too.
ReplyDeleteHi Ruth, The iPhone does take good pictures, doesn't it???
ReplyDeleteLove all of your photos especially the last two... Great pictures of the hollyhock and the day lily. All of our lilies and day lilies are gone now. Sniff Sniff...
Have a great weekend.
Hugs,
Betsy
Wow! That iPhone takes very good pics given it's size! Almost I'm persuaded to get one.
ReplyDeleteAll of the images are very nice. The ice water is something a little different. I can almost feel the cool humidity around the glass. :)
ReplyDeleteIf you hadn't said that these pictures were taken with an iPhone, I'd have guessed that an expensive DSLR camera had been used. These are amazingly beautiful.
ReplyDeleteSo you took all these pictures with your i-Phone? They are wonderful, I never would have known! Do you have the internet on your phone? I am thinking about it, it is $10.00 more a month. Wondering how much I would use it and what for.
ReplyDeleteThose were all taken with your iphone? Remarkable and beautiful shots! Diane
ReplyDeleteHI Ruth...well now that works super! Lovely photos! : }
ReplyDeleteI'm with Linda I wouldn't have known!!

ReplyDeleteA wonderful series of beautiful photos. Amazing how far cameras in phones have come. Love those clouds floating lazily in the clear blue sky. And your flowers may be gone but you have beautiful memories, and shots, of them.
ReplyDeleteI hope things went well with Helen.
Amazing the quality of photos that you can take with a phone now. I love yuor beautiful flowers. I still have Asiatic Lilies blooming, which are more reliable here than the daylilies. Your thought for today is so true.
ReplyDeletegreat quality and colors! I wonder what how big its sensor is and megapix? Hubby has one for his work but I never knew it could take awesome photos like this.

My phone takes very poor pictures, but then, it is not an iPhone. I am impressed with the colour and clarity of these pictures!
ReplyDeleteWho would ever have thought one could take photos with a phone, lol!! Incredible shots! Love the shade of the hollyhocks. I used to have a whole row of hollyhocks against the back fence, but they were doubles and looked a lot like pink carnations - just gorgeous! The butterfly is a beauty and so is its amazingly detailed shadow! Have yourself a great weekend Ruth and enjoy your lemonade!
ReplyDeletePretty amazing to get such nice, sharp pictures with an Iphone. It is pretty hard to keep up with all the new technology.
ReplyDeleteYour hollyhocks made me think of the farm where I grew up. We had lots of them there, but I have never been able to get them to grew well here in the woods. I think they like the sunlight!
Have a great weekend!
Simply beautifully captured shots...lovely!
ReplyDeletefantastic photos, no matter what you used. the butterfly is my favorite and the melting water and lemon. wow
ReplyDeleteWow, I'm impressed that these are iphone pics! My cell phone is a dinosaur. I love the pink day lily! I have a small clump but they are more cranberry than pink.
ReplyDeleteYou got some great pictures with your iPhone. If you hadn't told us they were taken with a phone camera, I think we'd all assume they were done with your regular camera. The pictures of the blossoms are gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteThese are amazing. I would have never thought they come from a phone. It does macro very well!
ReplyDeleteI'm impressed with the quality of the photos your iPhone takes! WOW!

Ruth, These are fabulous shots--if you took these with your iphone, I am sooooo impressed. That butterfly is a terrific shot and the shadow makes it even better. I have an iphone but it is a couple of years old and the camera is not very good. I'll have to upgrade to a new one soon if it can take these kind of pictures!! Have a lovely week. Mickie :)
