The Word Of Our God…….

It seems my posting is very sporadic these days.
I am still alive and well and am being kept busy with a variety of things.
Here are a few pictures from a recent photography outing with a friend.
All these pictures, and many more were taken in about a ¾ mile stretch of country road. This is a road that is not travelled a lot and so it is no problem to be wandering around on the road, getting pictures.

The first shot is Swamp Smartweed.
I have read that it is not well liked by the farmers, but I think the flowers are still pretty.

When I am out in the country-side,I am always drawn to the grasses.
The flowers on this grass stem look like a dangly necklace.

I believe this is a Nelson's Sharp-tailed Sparrow.
If my ID is correct, then it is a lifer for me.
Should someone reading this post have a correct ID,I would appreciate hearing it.
Sparrows are difficult to identify,at least some of them.

I loved how this weed was back-lit.
Even a simple weed can be beautiful.

Did I mention that I love the grasses?
Here is another shot to prove that.I think they have such a delicate and almost lacy look.

Thought for today:
The grass withers and the flowers fall,
but the word of our God stands forever.
Isaiah 40:8  NIV

So lovely, Ruth. Grasses, weeds and wildflowers are all my favorites, too!

That sounds like a lovely drive with your friend.

I agree, sparrows are very difficult to identify.

I love grasses too. There is a grass I remember in England called Quaking Grass. Very pretty. I have been trying to identify the different sparrows that visit our back yard. Not easy.

Thanks for taking us along with you on your walk! Lovely pictures, I especially like that cute sparrow. I never even knew there was a sparrow by that name, shameful for a birder!!

These are beautiful, especially the yellow weeds. One of my favorite things to do is take pictures of simple grasses. There's such beauty all around us...God thought of everything.

I too, love the grasses. I was going to work on identifying our own here but have never gotten around to it. Hard to get the identity right.

Ruth, All these photos are so lovely and full of grace!
Sparrows can be tough to ID. I looked up your sparrow in my Field Guide. It looks like a Nelson's Sharp-tail to me. Hope you are correct and can add it to your Life List!

I've been sporadic, too! I love the backlit flowers and the grasses, which remind me of delicate Japanese artwork.

Beautiful photos of the grasses and flowers. Here where we live the temperature is keeping me from wandering to far. From the A/C.

Wow, beautiful photo's of flowers and grasses and that little bird is lovely.

I think I understand a little better about your sporadic blogging - there are days when I just don't get motivated either when other thoughts prevail.

Glad you went out and got these to share with us though - beautiful images. It's only when we take time to examine so-called 'weeds' up close that we realize their beauty.

Wonderful thought for today ! Have a blessed weekend.

Love the last shot of wild oats... I too love grasses. So thankful that all of this will pass away, but God's Word will last forever. I have to tell you I'm a fellow school bus driver (in the Seattle area) and a photographer too...

Light on ordinary grasses can be so very beautiful. Love the first one with all the pollen dangling down.

I love how you've given ordinary things such a beautiful showcase. Many times we take such beauty for granted.
