I have a special treat to share today.
I want to introduce you to a guest photographer, who I had the privilege of spending some time with this morning.
I think you will be seeing more of this photographers work in the future.
We went for a walk at Livingstone Park, here in Morden.
The light was not that great, but a good photographer can still get amazing pictures, even in low light.
Here is a look into the park, showing one of the paths.
Another similar shot, just a little lower angle.
Looking straight up into the tree tops.
I like this kind of creative shot.
Here is a close-up of a tree trunk.
I think this is an interesting picture.
In some of these pictures the photographer used the flash to illuminate the scene.
Even a downed tree can be a good photo subject.
Finding some water in an old tree trunk,is a good reason for a shot.
This stump was very unique in that it had some pink colouring in it.
Again my guest photographer needed to use flash to get a good shot.
Upon coming back to my house,my special guest carefully arranged these collected leaves and captured them as well.
Some of you may be wondering just who this fantastic photographer is.
This is none other than my precious granddaughter,Kai,who is not yet 6 years old.
She had my little point and shoot camera and needed no prompting to take these shots. I think her Daddy, had better be prepared for some competition in the photography field.I might add that it was her idea to use the flash to get a brighter picture.Dare I say that Daddy and Grandma are beaming with pride.
how awesome! she's a natural! :)
After about three pictures, I guessed the photographer was a child! I think because many things seemed at a lower level. She is quite talented!! Especially that picture of the beautiful stump, the pink marbling looks like pink malachite. I hope she is encouraged in this, does she have her own photo album?
Your granddaughter took some fantastic photos. She is going to be a great photographer. I love the pictures.
I think Kai inherited some photographic talent from her grandparents as well as her father. She's got a wonderful eye. I think both of you are justified for beaming with pride.
Wonderful photos, Kai. And you have the BEST teacher! Well done grandmother Ruth.
Kai can't go wrong with all of you supporting her. She's pretty good. I like the way you did the story Ruth. Diane
Well done, Kai and Grandmother Ruth. The photos in the low-light woods turned out especially nice.
Awe, too sweet, Ruth. Photography is very much in your family's blood. I know you enjoyed your day.
HI Ruth ...that is so precious..and she has quite the eye for it too!
Be proud Dad and Grandma
I knew straight away whom you meant.
You have good reason to be beaming with pride. Kai looks at the world with my eyes, capturing the wonders of nature wherever they are, whether the rough bark on the tree or the filtered light through the leaves. I am most impressed by that straight up shot where her sense of composition angled the tree to lead the eye into the light.
Kai is a very special , gifted young lady, I wonder if she will get a camera for her next birthday?
How wonderful! I was hoping you were going to say it was your granddaughter! How special! Lovely place for a walk and a click!!
Wow, these are by a child that young! As they say it is not in the camera but the eye, and definitely she has the genes. Congratulations for having someone to perpetuate the good job. She might even outdo her elders!
Kai did a wonderful job! It's obvious she has inherited a bit of talent. Daddy and Grandma have every right to be very proud of her. Hopefully we will see more of her work in a future guest photographer post.
Wow, great captures of the earth's beauty. She's just getting started.
Looking forward to seeing more of her photography.
Your precious guest photographer comes by her talent through her grandparents and dad, but now also through your mentoring! She is a natural and has a good eye for composition. A see a father-daughter studio in the future!
This awesome talent for photography runs in the family and your grand daughter has it. Amazing eye she has there.
Wow---like Father, like Grandmother!!!!! Kai really is GOOD... AND---all she'll do is just get better and better. Tell her CONGRATS from me!!!
Your Granddaughter has a good eye...I look forward to seeing more of her work on your blog...

Great pictures! You had me guessing that it was your son! It a fun and interesting hobby and I think she should persue it!
And "beam" you should!!! Wow, she did a great job, and I can see "Grandma" is teaching her to appreciate and love nature, as well as take some terrific pictures of it. Have a great weekend. Mickie ;)
