Sunshine and Tears

When you pass through the waters,I will be with you;and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire.you will not be burned;the flames will not set you ablaze. For I am the Lord, your God.
Isaiah 43:2-3

The above verse became very meaningful to me about one year ago and today I claim it again,as the memories come back.
A year ago,Jake and I started down the road of incurable cancer. Now I reflect on how God has guided me as I try to move forward.
Today,I will share a few flowers, photographed at the English Gardens.

Never apologize for showing feeling. When you do so,you apologize for the truth.
Benjamin Disraeli

Life is not all sunshine and roses, but God is still good, even when the tears fall.

These are beautiful words and beautiful photos, Ruth. I especially liked the last image of the rose. One of the key words in the scripture that you shared is "when." Trials will come to each of us in this life. But God is faithful to walk through those floods and flames with us. You honor God in your pain. You are an inspiration.

My heart goes out to you Ruth. I am so sorry for your pain. May the Lord Jesus comfort you and may you feel His Presence day by day, hour by hour, and moment by moment. Your photos of the flowers are all so beautiful. Thank you for sharing from your heart and soul. I love that passage of scripture as well.

The heart remembers. The Lord is faithful- I'm so glad you honor the Lord in your life, Ruth. It would be a bitter, sad journey without Him. Your flower shots are incredibly beautiful. Diane

Beautiful photos, Ruth! Let's see, I recognize the Stargazer Lily, the rose, perhaps a zinnia...My favorite is the first purple plant, it looks a bit like a chenille plant, though I have never seen a purple one.

A lovely verse and delightful photographs. I really like the lily and rose photos. They both seem to glow.

So many of us carried the pain with you and God has taken your hand and led you through the valley of the shadow of death and out into the light again.
When you ask (for help) it will be given unto you and when you seek (peace), you shall find it.Obviously there is still something you are meant to do in this world.
I am still praying for you and your relatives.

Stunning images Ruth - a reflection of the glory of His creation.

We remember your pain, and your faith throughout this past difficult year. The verses you chose reminded me of Psalm 121 - "My help comes from the LORD ... The LORD is thy keeper ... The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night ... ".

May you have peace this week.

Hugs from here, Ruth! It is hard to look back on such a sad time. I'm glad that you had some warning of what was to happen and could make the most of his last days rather than a sudden end. I know God will keep helping you move forward. Lovely photos.

What an inspiration of faith, courage and and hope you are. I remember the year after our grandson died in our home. I didn't think I could ever be happy again but somehow, time has helped us move forward and find joy and hope in this life, knowing we will someday be reunited with our darling Gavin. You have shared your grief and also your faith and love and in turn have helped so many. May your memories be sweet at this tender time!
