Flowers and More

With all the hot weather we are having,my cameras have not been as busy as I would like.I do however have a few pictures I want to share with you.

I see very few flowers that are a true blue. Well this one in my eyes is as blue as can be.I think this is a Larkspur, but I do know that I love that intense blue colour. No,I have not enhanced in during editing.

Purple Coneflowers are a flower I can always count on. It doesn't seem to matter if it is hot and dry or cool and wet, they will bloom. This one is taken in my garden.

I spent an evening with friends recently and since we all enjoy taking pictures, after supper we headed out into the pasture.Thistles were just beginning to open,so I chose to capture the back side of this blossom.

Back on their yard I spied this little gem.It looked so cheerful with that bright yellow centre. This is a fairly small flower tucked away in the back of the garden. To me this proves that I don't have to have centre stage to shine for God.

A week or two ago,I was out with a couple of ladies. We had been searching for photo opportunities and now the sun was setting fast.
As I drove into the Pembina Valley,I saw this.I quickly pulled over and got out of the car.The deer is much too far away and the light was very low,the image is not sharp, but I like it anyway.

Thought for today:
Each time you pick a daffodil
Or gather violet on some hill
Or touch a leaf or see a tree,
It's all God whispering,
"This is Me".

Blue is my favorite color, so that first photo struck my fancy. But they're all great. What a gift God gave you to in sending that deer your way in time for you to snap a photo.

Gorgeous photos, Ruth! Sometimes those little gems that usually are overlooked are the most beautiful of all when we look closely.

Thistles can be such a headache to get rid of, but I do think they have a beautiful bloom.
It really has not been that hot here, but we are suppose to hit the 100's this weekend..
Stay cool..

Beautiful flowers, and I love your capture of the deer walking in the water. It has been awhile since I saw any deer. I think the last one I captured was a few years ago, saw one walking on a frozen lake coming home from my dad's.
It has been really hot here also and I haven't got out with my camera. Today was much more comfortable with the temp. being around 77 with a nice breeze, but we really need rain as we haven't had any for over a month now.
Well you take care and have a wonderful night and weekend ahead.
Dianne :)

Wonderful blues and purples. I planted a cone flower this year and I am enjoying it so much. It's only had one bloom so far.

It's 68/22C here and I ripped open the windows to let the cooler air into our apartment. We face south and the sun can become unbearable. So happy we bought the free standing air conditioner in the spring! It does help!
I do love the blue of that larkspur! Your thought is excellent! I so enjoyed that seemingly ordinary and perhaps insignificant in the floral world got top billing on your blog today!

Your photos go so well with the quote.

After all, "This is my Father's world" !

LOVE your flower photos, I'm a fan of bright colours too. Must be wonderful to see a deer in the wild, we only have them in zoos.

Your pictures are all so lovely. Your new camera "and you" are working well together. I love the blue in that first picture. I have found that when I take pictures of blue or deep purple flowers they sometimes do not appear true to color when I look at the pictures. But, your blue appears to be right on.

That larkspur is really, really blue! I agree that there aren't many blue flowers that I know of. All of your flowers are so pretty! I'll be glad when this dry summer is over and hope for more color next summer. I love that poem at the end! I'm going to put a poem on the back of my nature quilt as part of the label I make, because nature always makes me think of God. Probably the one about "...one is nearer God's heart in a garden then anywhere else on earth."
