Roses

Feeling a little desperate for something new to photograph,I bought myself a small bouquet of 6 roses.
I really don't understand why I picked the colour I did, because usually I would pick a bright pink or a red,but this time it is a more subdued colour.

All of these pictures are taken with the iPhone and have had no editing whatsoever.
This is the bouquet, nothing big or fancy, but they sure add a bright spot on my table.I used flash to get this shot, and yes,I used a large mug as a vase, because I can.I should also explain that the white you see in the water is torn up paper towel. This helps to keep the flowers standing more upright.

Getting a little closer, you can see some of the detail on the flowers.

Looking straight down into one of the flowers. These roses are all the same colour, yet on the pictures they look so different.I suppose it could be the lighting.

A few flowers, and I have had a good time capturing their beauty. It has been a nice change from photographing snow.

Today the snow has started to melt and there is hope for a new season.

Thought for Today:
After the winter comes the summer.
After the night  comes the dawn.
After every storm, there comes clear open skies.

This color is wonderful! So delicate and breathless. And in the last picture, I love the way you captured even the texture. Nest thing, you will find us a way to smell them.

Very pretty, Ruth. It's nice to get away from the dreary weather for a while.

Although roses are always beautiful, you work magic with an iPhone. I love your eye.

These are so pretty, Ruth. And I'm amazed, every time you post photos from your iPhone, at what a marvelous picture it takes. Love that second one.

Beautiful, Ruth... I can't wait til our roses bloom. One of ours looks just like the ones you bought... I cannot WAIT!!!!

Snowed for about 3 days --but has finally stopped... Maybe we'll get some sunshine and some warmer temps tomorrow. YEAH!!!

Hugs,
Betsy

These roses are lovely subtle colors. I buy myself flowers every so often too, and recently posted green spider mums I bought. The flowers light up a room and our hearts too.

Gorgeous roses, Ruth! Amazing the quality of photo that you get with your iPhone. The snow hasn't started to melt here, but temps in the high 30sF are predicted for the weekend, so perhaps we'll see some of it going. I might just have to follow your example and buy myself some flowers the next time I go shopping!

Y our roses are beautiful Ruth. I, also am looking for things to photograph and go back to my files mostly. Not much color outside here still, desperately waiting for spring to come. I just saw on TV the plant growing centers will go bankrupt if spring doesn't come soon because people don't buy their spring violets and such for their gardens. Usually this time before Easter they sell everything and the gardens look beautiful. It is still too cold to work in the garden. It has been the coldest end of march ever, even more frost than in January.

The yellow cast on the petals in the first photo is very pleasing, especially with the pink trim. Isn't it nice to be able to go out and buy some spring to tide you over until winter decides to leave? Glad to hear the snow is melting. Have a great day!

You got some wonderful pictures of these roses. I look forward to having roses in bloom in our yard, but now I'm just hoping the bushes didn't get hurt in the cold snap we're experiencing.

I know what you mean about not having much to photograph. I will be so glad when things start to bloom again. In the meantime, flowers from the store will have to do. Happy Easter--may it be filled with many blessings. Mickie ;)
