For The Beauty Of The Earth

Every day of our lives we can find something to be thankful for.
This post contains photos and the lyrics to the song,'For The Beauty of The Earth'.

For the beauty of the earth
For the beauty of the skies,

For the love which from our birth
Over and around us lies,

For the beauty of each hour
Of the day and of the night,

Hill and vale and tree and flower,
Sun and moon and stars of light

Lord of all to thee we raise
This our hymn of grateful praise.

For the joy of human love,
Brother,sister,parent,child,

Friends on earth and friends above,
For all gentle thoughts and mild,

Lord of all to thee we raise
This our hymn of grateful praise.

We sang a version of this song last Sunday and I also wrote a post last year using these words. Your photos are just stunning...ah, those silhouettes of those lovely naked trees against that sky...gorgeous!! Have a blessed Sunday, Ruth!

I remember this hymn from the tiny country church of my childhood. The photos you've used to illustrate it are glowing. I especially love the reflection of sky in water and that brilliant gold-leafed branch.
