Loons on Lake Minniwasta

About a month ago I spent a morning at Lake Minniwasta,but I wasn't there alone.
I had some Common Loons entertaining me. They were not as close as I would have liked but it was better than I've had them before.
I have no further descriptions,so enjoy the photos.

Closing Thought:
Happy the soul that has been awed by a view of God’s Majesty.

I'm glad the loons cooperated so you could get these neat photos.

I love loons, but they're scarce here. Thanks for sharing these!

I have enjoyed the haunting sound of the loon, as I sat in the quiet evening, waiting for my guides to settle for the evening, at Guide Camp many years ago. Beautiful.

trying to recall the state park we went to to enjoy those similar loons. such a pretty sound. very peaceful. a nice sound to fall asleep to. most birds are very relaxing to me. i must admit i don't enjoy the dove sound though. personally preference i guess. ( ;

I love seeing LOONS... Not sure I've ever seen one except in pictures... I remember my blog friend, Shelley, talking about seeing them in her area of Upper Michigan... AND --one of my favorite movies was "On Golden Pond" --where they talked about them, and I heard their 'song'.... Gorgeous birds... Thanks for sharing.
Hugs,
Betsy

When I lived in Canyon Lake, CA they had an over-abundance of coots. Every year they would have a coot shoot to thin the herd, but I had to go away that day to avoid it as it saddened me.

Lovely images of the Loons, we call the same bird Divers when they reach here in winter. I hope you have a marvelous week ahead so until next time, bye.

I think part of the reason I enjoyed the movie On Golden Pond was because of the loons. I loved their sounds. I'm glad you were able to capture these to show us! Have a nice week!
