Finding Fall Beauty

Well,my friends, it's time to look at some fall scenes around my neck of the woods.
We do not have a lot of reds as a matter of fact, this year the color seems less than it has been in other years. I'm not complaining, though, this means I just have to look a little harder to find beauty.

As I was going to check out Lake Minniwasta, one day,I was literally stopped in my tracks by what I saw. There was some dust in the air and that combined with the shafts of sunlight made a beautiful scene.

Yellow,is the predominant color around here in fall.

This is obviously in early fall, because of the lack of color.I always enjoy that winding road through the Pembina Valley.

There are pockets of lovely color.

The hillside is filled with lovely shades of yellow and green. Of course I always hope for more vibrant colours, but I do still like what I'm seeing.

Here are some rules we would all do well to obey:
Daily Rules to Live By:
Wake up
Be thankful
Help others
Trust yourself
Worry less
Keep going
Love unconditionally
Dream big

  3. Beautiful pictures. I really like the first one as well. The trees in my area are not as colourful as one would expect, but the nights have not been cold enough to produce the vibrant colour we usually see.Even the maples that started out with a beautiful red, have dulled to a copper colour.

  7. Thanks for sharing your autumn photos with us. It's so dry around here that I'm afraid our predominant color will be brown.

  14. Our fall colors seem to be popping just a little bit more with each passing day. The yellows you've captured are beautiful. And the sunbeams through the dust make a spectacular shot.

  15. You found some beautiful spots in your area Ruth. Love that hillside of green and bright yellow. These shots always remind me of quilts.
Here in Ontario we get the reds and oranges in early fall, and then the yellows come later. Unfortunately, it's been far too warm this year and there hasn't been a whole lot of the reds and oranges (from the sugar maples). The leaves have just turned brown, dried up and fallen off the trees. Some years is just dazzling though.

  16. Hi Ruth, I always look forward to your fall photos. Thank you for finding the beauty and sharing it with us through your photography! I love the photos and the Daily Rules as well. I think I will copy the Daily Rules onto a little 3 x 5 note card and set it here on my desk to remind me what I need to work on! :-) Thanks, as always, for sharing and for your kind comments on my blog too! Wishing you a fine week ahead! John
