Winter Sunset at the Lake

Winter is still hanging on, but there is certainly beauty to be found in nature, even in winter.
Allow me to share a few photos taken during the last couple of months.

The Minniwasta Golf course also has a restaurant and some beautiful landscaping.I am not a golfer, but do enjoy the view from the parking lot.Hydrangeas look lovely even in winter.

You all know that Lake Minniwasta is one of my go to places for sunset scenes.
The lake in these pictures is actually frozen, but without snow on it the ice almost looks like open water.

The setting sun creates that golden glow on the ice.

This has been the first year I actually took note of the lake at sunset, in winter.I like how it looks.

The setting sun comes so early in winter.By now the daylight hours are getting more and more.I look forward to spending more time at the lake, watching the sunsets.

I add this lovely Hibiscus for those who just don't like winter and cold weather.

Closing Thought:
God loves you and every sunset or sunrise reveals it.

How beautiful the sun is on the ice. And the ice DOES look like water. I have never seen ice with the texture of waves like this.

I wouldn't have know that was ice on the lake, instead of open water, if you hadn't told me. So pretty, especially in the soft glow of the setting sun. And the hibiscus...stunning!

Lots of cold weather this year.... In one of your pictures, it looked like clouds in the sky....It was the lake! Great pics.

What a gorgeous place for photography- I was going to say that the lake doesn't even look frozen...I guess I expect the snow covering. But how pretty. Have a blessed day!

Hi Ruth, I've got to commend you for going out to Lake Minniwasta and taking some photos of the lake in winter to share with us! Wow, they are great indeed! Yes, I agree with you, the frozen lake looks almost like it's not frozen. That is very interesting. I think one of the best things about your photography is the way you can find the beauty in unusual places. Well, it's not that the lake is unusual, but winter pictures of it are wonderful as seen through your eye. Thank you for sharing and for your kind comments on my blog too! John
