Sunshine and Clouds

Looking into the sky usually brings some interesting results, especially when there are some clouds in the sky.  Many people want a clear, cloudless sky, just like we want a life free from all troubles. Neither of these are always the best. The sky definitely becomes more interesting and more beautiful with the clouds and our lives often take on deeper meaning when we have some 'clouds' in them.

While sitting at Lake Minniwasta, waiting for the sunset, I was able to capture this scene.

The setting sun paints the sky and the lake a rich tone of orange.

As the sun continued to drop below the horizon, a few clouds moved in to add to the beauty.

Just for fun, I played with the above shot and turned it into a black and white image.

Give me your feedback on which you like better and maybe even ,why.

The color in the sky is rich and deep. Even though I have seen this so often, I am in awe each time.

I decided to add a brighter image as well. This is a scene I captured about a year ago.I would consider this a typical farm scene. The yellow of the canola fields, blue sky and the grain bins, waiting to be filled. I almost feel like a combine or truck should come rumbling down that road.

Something to consider:

We need both sunshine and rain for plants to grow and

in our lives we need joys and sorrows to help us to grow.

Your photos are gorgeous (as usual). Although I like the black-and-white sunset picture, I think I prefer the one in color. I also enjoyed your farm scene,

I like a bright blue sky with clouds in it better too. It sure adds beauty to the picture.
Like the color sunset best and usually like color photos instead of black and white. I just like to see the world in color I guess! :)

These are wonderful...I love each and every one. This is one case where I cannot make a choice between B&W, and Color...a lot of times B&W ends hands down, but not so here.

I for sure like the one in color the best. I don't think I have ever seen sun rays like this, going all the way around in almost a circle!

I prefer the colour to black and white. The skies are glorious. Inspiring really!

It's difficult to choose which photo I like better. They are both lovely. The black and white one holds more mystery, I think.
Flat skies are not much fun to photograph and we get a lot of grey/white skies here that add nothing to an image.
Yours are all wonderful. I particularly like the first one.

When it comes to clouds, I never see a bad one. Nice job.

The clouds are always telling a story. The black and white adaption provided a nice photo.

Ruth, wonderful images! As you know, I am a big fan of clouds and the sky! We haven't had much in the way of sunsets recently. Mostly clear skies lead to not much of a sunset! But clear skies are good too!

Those were ALL beautiful, but I prefer the natural oranges of the sunset to the "black and white" photo. And that pretty blue with the yellow canola flowers blooming..that was gorgeous! Love farm scenes of any kind! God paints such glorious masterpieces for us to enjoy! Thank you for sharing yours!!

Words of wisdom at the end. I keep forgetting to tell you that I love what you did to your August header and here we are halfway through August. I think I like the black and white one best but I like both of them and the one in color makes me feel joyful and peaceful the one in black and white has I look of you could use it in a Alfred Hitchcock movie. Kind of a smooth spooky look

Absolutely loved your first photo with the cloud lady. She looked like she was dressed in a lacy ball gown. Exquisite. What a shot! Lovely sunset photos.

Yes to both sun and clouds. Those orange sunsets are spectacular. We're having some vivid colors now because of particulates in the air from wildfires in CO. Unfortunately, I can't be outdoors photographing them because air quality is bad. Do you think you'll miss the school bus this year, Ruth? Is your district going to send kids back for in-person learning?
