Hodgepodge

I have titled this post Hodgepodge, because I have so many pictures I want to share that I need to combine some to get caught up.

Actually, I guess I will likely never get caught up, as I have far more pictures that never get posted.

First, I invite you to join me as we watch another sunset at Lake Minniwasta.

It was in late September, the leaves were changing color and the sun had started setting earlier.

Here we see the sun peeking through some fall leaves.

I want to draw your attention to the beauty of these sun-highlighted leaves.

Lake Minniwasta has been turned to gold as the sun slowly drops to the horizon .

Even a few dried grass stems look like they are golden in the evening light.

Well friends, it is now another day and let's see what kind of beauty we can find today.

A field of swathed Canola looks pretty.

At my house, the Red-breasted Nuthatch comes for a drink at the bird bath.

Followed quickly by the cheerful Black-capped Chickadee.

Driving along in the countryside, fall brings migrating hawks to the area. This red-tailed Hawk wasn’t in the mood to get his picture taken.

A few miles down the road another Red-tailed Hawk, waited just long enough to take off, so I could get a shot. It always looks like they lift off slowly, but it happens so fast that a picture does not always happen.,

God brings beauty from all seasons.

Father, You have permitted this season in my life. Help me to be content in the midst of it, and to recognize Your power and might are at work.

Oh, those are so beautiful, Ruth! I love your photos! I would love to come and go out looking for great photos around the countryside with you. That would be such fun! Beauty is where you find it. Anywhere we open our eyes and look and see what God has created for our enjoyment. Love these so much.

Back in 2008 the end of 2008 my thoughts for my blog were to call it God's creation because that's what I was taking pictures of an over the years I have slowly dropped into more writing and silly things. These are the type pictures that I always loved and still do that Hawk is absolutely gorgeous. Your hodgepodge today has some of everything and it's all beautiful and I'm so glad that in your retirement you're able to get out and do things and capture this creation for us to see

Of course, I LOVE your bird images, but I have to be honest here...my favorite is the beautiful stem/grass. Love that artful composition.

I love the golden autumn light through the tree leaves and all the wonderful birds and the hawk. I find it difficult to capture flying birds as I seem to move my camera to follow them and end up with a blurry photo.

Stunning photos Ruth. All the golden backlighting is spectacular.
I love those precious little birds..we have a few Nuthatches around here but they are so flitty that I can never capture a picture.
I always enjoy visiting your blog and seeing God's mighty masterpieces.
