Welcome Back Birds

Spring brings back the Canada Geese. even though I already have so many photos of them, they are good subjects, so I always take more.

The sky in early spring is not good for photos, so I get this washed out look, but the geese are very visible.

You can see that when I got these pictures some areas of the marsh were still ice covered.

I am by no means an expert, but I enjoy trying my hand at those action shots.
as always, the Canada Goose is very vocal. You can see this one is calling out.

No,this one and the previous one, are not the same pictures. Those powerful wings always make an impression on me.

Yes, we do see more than just geese. These three Tundra Swans were enjoying a swim in those icy waters.

 Think about this:

In the faces of nature there are wonders that never cease

Oh Ruth, these are priceless. Love them all and the "washed out" one is very intriguing.
I think swans are so regal...beautiful captures.

All of these waterfowl are very pretty and something that we do not see in our area. I think the photos are beautiful

Wonderful and sharp flight pictures! We have many Canada Geese, and they stay all year round! Don't really know why.

These are marvelous photos, Ruth. I like both the action of your Canada Goose pictures as well as the serenity of the picture of the swans.

Oh, I would love to see some swans! Those are gorgeous! Of course we still have our Canada Geese here on Still Waters Pond. I am hoping she is actually sitting on some eggs as she sits over there on the little island every day. Time will tell. And then maybe they will head back up your way, but these may stay here longer, especially if they have babies. Love to watch them, and your pictures are marvelous!! You are very good at the action shots. My camera is too slow to get good action shots, or else I am too slow...one or the other. Thank you for sharing your photos. Those were refreshing.

I really like the one that is doing the Lift-Off with the wings in the air just above the three swans. The swans are just beautiful I also really like the one that the sky is white behind it because it's puts them stand out really well. At first I thought your title said welcome black birds. I think that's because we have all these common blackbirds here that I've been watching and this morning one went racing across the road in front of us kind of half lion half walking because it was carrying either an earthworm or a lizard that was too heavy for it to fly with. Which means I have black bird on the brain
