Perfect Skies

Beautiful blue skies filled with puffy white clouds, that is a winning combination in my mind.

Since we are stepping into August, this seems like a perfect time to share these images. note the green grass, yeah, it doesn't look like that any longer.

All these images were captured within a few miles of where I live. I may not have the privilege of travelling far, but I can usually find beauty wherever I am.

I trust that your summer is filled with fun activities and peaceful moments to capture the beauty around you.

I have been kept busy with ongoing renovations in my house, but I have also taken time to get out and enjoy the beauties of nature.

Seeing those blue skies makes me more aware of the lack of them recently. The smoke from fires many miles north of us, has filled the sky and caused it to look overcast on most days.

Can the sky be described as delicious??!? Such beauty. In my opinion, traveling is something far over-rated. There is the best just outside our doors...what we call home.

your Sugust header is stunning! I think my favorite is the country road with the fence and fenceposts. I think Meadowlarks may be in that grass.

all are beautiful and the last one is sad to see the grass brown. i just came from another post from Canada and she said their temp yesterday was 99 and still no rain. and of course the fires. prayers for you and your family that you stay safe from the fires

I really like your cloud photos. Dollops of whipped cream....
We are finally getting out more since Dave has more mobility finally. He's not driving yet but I think that's coming soon.
Our clunky old car won't go far any more but we try to see some different scenery when we can.
I like your ending thought and I say the same to you...

Hi Ruth, First of all, your new August header ... you set the bar on headers. It is excellent! And the message you incorporated in there is so true ... Look for the beauty and you will find it. I enjoyed all your sky photos. I think I've mentioned this before, but I've been lucky enough to take The Canadian from Vancouver to Toronto twice. Most people seem to talk about that train trip and how they were amazed at the beauty of the part through the Rocky Mountains. Yes, that part was wonderful, but, you know, I thought the prairies of Saskatchewan and Manitoba were especially appealing. I really like the country around Morton and thank you for sharing it with us! Wishing you a fine week ahead! John

Here in Oregon we pray for rain. It has been unusually hot and dry. Many trees and planrs are scorched and brown. Christmas tree farms have lots of damage.

Those skies are so fluffy. We’ve had so many gray sky days lately. Not complaining though. Not with so much heat, fire and drought elsewhere. We are fortunate.

Such beautiful skies! I love to watch the clouds, and when we drive anywhere we are always looking at the different shapes we see in the clouds. I have to keep reminding hubby to keep his eyes on the road and not the clouds! LOL. But no two skies are ever the same. I consider the skies to be God's canvas for His daily masterpieces...sunrises, sunsets, stormy skies, and blue skies are all amazing gifts for us to enjoy. Thank you for sharing yours with us.

Hi Ruth

I love views of big open skies and beautiful clouds!

We've also suffered from wildfire smoke in our atmosphere this summer with the added problem of high ozone from the heat and Denver traffic. Very often I stay in with an air purifier working to clean my indoor air of pollutants. It has really helped!

Beautiful skies, and I hope you see them again soon. Grass here is brown, brown, brown. You are so right that we do not have to travel far to find beauty. It's in every corner of God's beautiful creation.
