Spring On My Yard

I know we are fully into summer, but I still have some spring photos to share.

Sitting at my house in spring, I never know which birds will show up.

For a period in spring the Common Grackles are around. I admit that I really don't like them around, as they clean out a bird feeder in record time. Having said that, they are still a beautiful bird.

This spring I had a large number of Pine Siskins around. They may be small and more drab in color, but their cheery twitter is so enjoyable .

Of course when the American Goldfinches arrive, there is no lack of color.

One of the flowers that usually performs well for me are the Geraniums . I did have several plants, but due to water restrictions , they are all slowly dying. I am thankful I got some pictures while they still looked good.

Isn't that a cheery color?

Something To Think About;
Just keep taking the next step and you can take any mountain.

Beautiful shots of those pretty birds! It is truly sad that we're all so parched! The air we breathe is smokey last few days and we're told there will be more. Lord have mercy! Wonder how it affects the birds too!

Well, your Grackle is my favorite today. I have never seen anyone make a Grackle look so lovely! Indigo blue and black with piercing yellow eyes.

Beautiful birds! We were blessed to have some goldfinches here this past spring. That was a treat we had not had before. And your geranium is lovely. I do love that color. Mine are suffering in the heat now. Maybe I should have brought them inside, but I noticed that the lizards like to hide in them out on the porch, and I sure don't want to bring one in the house! Praying you will get some rain soon. We finally got some yesterday, which was much needed. Take care and have a blessed week.

Oh the beauty of the Goldfinch..wish we had them around here. Terrific photos.
Geraniums are such a hearty, lovely flower. I hope you don't loose them. I had several plants in pots which I enjoyed but silly me would forget to water them as life got in the way..now no more pretties to enjoy.

We see many goldfinches here during the year and I love their bright color. I also love the scrub jays and blue jays. They love our feeders and suet.

You got some great portraits of the birds in your yard. I wish we could have sent you some of our rain Sunday night. We had flooding and wash-out roads.

Beautiful birds. We have the Pine Siskins and I love watching them chatter and argue around the feeders. We stopped feeding early this year because of salmonella scares.

Ruth, these are lovely photos. Birdwatching and taking bird photos is something that I wish I was better at because I love them. This year we experiences the mama wren's cycle of life in one of my hanging baskets and it was amazing to watch those little babies hatch and fly away. :)

What beautiful photos. Love the birds. And the geranium is such a gorgeous colour. I have some in the same colour in my garden. They are such cheer bringers.

Perfect Skies

Beautiful blue skies filled with puffy white clouds, that is a winning combination in my mind. Since we are stepping into August, this seems...
