Yes, I know, the time for sunflowers is past, but who doesn't need a little bit of sunshine on a blustery day?
So join me as we go and find a field of sunflowers.
Do sunflowers have personality?
If they do, then this one is a little shy.
As lovely as these giant flowers look from the front,I always try to get a picture of the back side.
They have so much detail that is often hidden from plain view.
The sun is beginning to set and this might just be a good vantage point from which to watch the sunset.
And so ends another excursion out into the countryside. Each drive out yields different results, but one thing is certain, if we look, we can always find beauty.
The following Max Lucado quote gives us all something to think about.
“Gratitude.
More aware of what you have than what you don’t.
Recognizing the treasure in the simple –
a child’s hug, fertile soil, a golden sunset.
Relishing in the comfort of the common.”

They have more of a subtle beauty at sunset, just gorgeous. I love the back too.
The sunflower is beautiful - both sides. I always think of them as happy flowers because they make everyone smile. :)
We all have so much to be thankful for.
Oh my gosh Ruth...beautiful. I kept forgetting to tell you I loved the blog title "prairie sunset" of your previous post...very poetic in my opinion.
I love sunflowers. Wonderful shots.
Max had it right for sure.
Lovely! A different way to look at sunflowers, not with the normal bright sunshine!
I love sunflowers and have never seen an entire field of them, the sun setting over them is gorgeous and the back side is as beautiful as the front. the first one is like the microphone of sunflowers, telling the world look at me
I love your sunset pictures of the sunflowers.
