On September 1,2008, I posted my first blog post. 14 years have passed and I have shared many photos. Many of you have been with me through difficult times and through times of joy. I am so thankful for each one of you.
Life changes and I have reached a point where posting to this blog is becoming more of a chore than a joy, so it is time to say farewell. I will not be closing my blog completely, just in case I want to come back at some point.
I will be sharing my pictures on Facebook and Instagram so I hope if you are not already following me there you will do so soon. I can be found on both these sites by doing a search for my name, Ruth Hiebert.
Back on September 1, 2008, I posted one picture of clouds, so I thought it might be appropriate to end with a set of cloud photos.
Friends are the closet thing to angels, this side of heaven.

I understand your decision, Ruth. I haven't posted on my blog for a long time. It's so much easier and quicker to post on Facebook or Instagram and also you have more viewers there. I have enjoyed blogging and have 'met' some of the nicest people there!!!
I completely understand about the blog, BUT
I will miss you on it.
Now I have hardly anyone commenting on mine. People do get tired but I will keep doing it as its my journal that I publish each year.
I do comment on your FB and will continue to do that. Your photos are lovely and thoughtful too.
Sue
A fond farewell dear Ruth!! I don't do any social media other than blogging, so I will say, I appreciate the friendship we have had.
I am sorry to read this, Ruth, as I'm relatively new to your blog. But I will enjoy seeing your posts on IG.
I will miss you. I've been blogging that long too.
I don't have a FB or instagram so guess this will be good-bye. Hope you stop by my blog once in a while to say hi.
God Bless You in all you do.
What a sad day. I will miss you. But I wish you well, and to have lots more time to do what you want. Farewell for now.
I wish you all the best, Ruth. I will miss you though. Take care!
I agree blogging can be time consuming, Ruth. I only blog once a week but I can't seem to give it up as it keeps my mind active and keeps me engaged. I do tune into FB and Instagram so I'll keep in touch there!
An understandable decision. Do take care.
We started blogging at about the same time, I still enjoy it. May God bless you in your new adventures in life.
Those are lovely clouds for your final post. We started blogging at about the same time and I still enjoy it. May God bless you on your new adventures in life.
I created my first post in 2008 and you were one of the first followers and friend starting in 2009. I just said to a blog friend in email yesterday that back then I had 30 to 40 comments and friends and now am down to under 20, and only 8 of the 20 have been friends since 2009. now that will be 7. will miss you. I dread the day blogging is no more. I love it and can hardly stand to take a day off here and there, but I do know that most of the ones from the past are now on FB, instagram and other platforms. I do not like either of those but do occasionaly page through FB,and will say hi when i do. enjoy life and keep taking photos.
I'll miss your posts on this blog, but I certainly understand how you feel. Thank you for 14 years of gorgeous photos of God's beautiful creation.
Since we've communicated about this, I understand completely how you feel... My Blog is still OPEN and I post when I have something to say. I started Blogging in 2006 --and it used to be my only social media platform. I loved it and have met so many wonderful friends on Blogs. When I was Blogging daily, I had over 60 visitors daily.. Now that I Blog only on occasion, that list has dwindled down to about 18 or so.
One thing I loved about Blogging was being able to work on my home page each month, changing the picture and the blog colors, etc. WELL--Blogger has made so many changes making doing that harder and harder for me, and definitely not enjoyable.
I seem to be getting slower these days too
(HA) ---so Blogging is harder to me and more time-consuming. Like you, it has become more of a chore rather than a joy... I do still LOVE Facebook and have TONS of friends that I chat with almost daily....
Good Luck with your new endeavors ---and keep sending those gorgeous photos please.
Much Love,
Betsy
I will miss your posts. I am not on Facebook or instagram so won’t get to see your wonderful pictures or you timely encouraging messages. God’s blessings on you! Thank you for your encouragement through the years. Jan
Ruth, our blog anniversaries are nearly the same! I started blogging in August 2008, so 14 years for me as well. Although I'm sorry to hear you're hanging up your blogging hat - there's a time and season for everything - I'm happy we're Friends on Facebook. I look forward to more of your beautiful photography over there. Your cloud photos are exquisite.
Oh, I am sorry to see you go from blogging, but I hope you will stay active on Facebook with your wonderful photos and verses. I'm glad we are friends on Facebook! God bless you my friend.
So sorry to read this as I feel like I just recently discovered you, Ruth. I totally understand, though. I'm glad you're leaving your blog up as I think I may come back from time to time for inspiration. :)
oh no. that stinks for me. i only come to blog. i felt was wasting too much time on FB, and Instagram. so, i gave them up. i didn't enjoy the silliness and so on. my mom is still there. she is so cute. i hope this make sense ...but i love it when older people are on those platforms, and they really enjoy it. like i feel like i am older even if that is so not the case. mom will be 79 this year. i am 44. i've missed your comments, and now i realize why you are missing. you will be truly missed. your posts have brought such a huge satisfaction to my life, what other word is good? i just really enjoy them. the beauty from your neck of the woods. etc. always a fan. do as you see fit. i have seen over the days of my time blogging the many ladies and men who have left. the ones who chatted with me. i was always the younger one but i truly hope they did realize the impressions they did leave on my life not that we ever truly knew one another but it was a real blessing. a footprint within my daily life. so lovely. take care. Godspeed. bye now. ( ;
Hi Ruth, Sorry to be so late getting a comment on this post! I am 100% behind whatever choice you make with Ruth's Photo Blog. It has been wonderful following you for years. What a lot of joy I've had looking at your photography. If you decide to keep going it will just be a bonus! :-) Take good care and blessings to you! John
I totally understand Ruth. I have hardly posted anything on my blog and have not read many of the blogs I follow. I will look you up on instagram.
I will miss your photos and your bloggy friendship. Good luck and God bless!💖
Hope all is well, Ruth! Take care!
