Looking Back

On this first day of April 2023, I will take you back to April 2022.

Spring brings many varied scenes. We may have snow or rain, freezing temperatures or thawing. What all this does is to give many photo opportunities.

Below is a scene that shows the interesting sights around.

Of course the springtime influx of Dark-eyed Juncos is a pleasant event. The trees are often filled with these small, and somewhat drab looking birds, but oh can they fill the air with that constant twittering.

As the snow and ice melt it leaves some of the most interesting sculptures.

Canada Geese make their return to our area and are a welcome sight. Especially early in spring that familiar honking assures us that warmer weather is on the way.

On my yard the resident Merlin is active.

To Think About:

Plunge into the blessings of spring…

the sprouting of trees and grass,

the sound of birds returning from their winter furlough,

the daffodils and tulips.

Those ice sculptures are beautiful. They look like diamonds or crystals on a chandelier.
Love the sound of geese honking their arrival. We have resident geese in a pond several blocks away from us. They are messy so I'm glad they aren't any closer but I do love them anyway.

What beautiful photos, Ruth. I like the small, dull-looking bird the most. It is unknown to me

The sounds of spring came early to central Indiana this year. I have been enjoying the happy twitter of the birds for weeks. As always, I enjoy your pictures, Ruth. The picture of the Merlin in flight is wonderful.

Hi Ruth, As always congratulations on your custom header for April. When it comes to headers you are leaps and bounds ahead of most bloggers. Tough to pick a favorite photo, but, if I must, let it be #2, the sweet Dark-eyed Junco. It almost looks like it was snowing when you snapped the photo and the little bird is just smiling about it. Great closing thought! Wishing you a happy weekend ahead. John

As usual, your blog is an inspiration to me as someone who enjoys photography. I can get inside your lovely photos by enlarging them to view the world as you see it. They open our eyes to a portion of God’s magnificent creation and soothe our troubled spirits. Thank you so much for giving us joy.💕
